Every single day, an immense number of old books is being discarded for litter. Outdated textbooks, past propaganda or works that simply went out of fashion – all of these and more depart both public and individual libraries as well as bookshops.
While the paper block of any hardcover book can be easily recycled, the same cannot be said about the cover. This part of the book contains more than just paper and thus is currently non-recyclable. This is exactly why reusing the book covers for blank notebooks is a sustainable solution.
